My name is Brodie, I am delighted to meet you! 

Un Petit Café was a way for me to combine two cultures close to my heart, while making people happy with coffee and cake! 

After spending my early childhood in Scotland, we moved to a beautiful town in Brittany in the north coast of France when I was six years-old. 

As a teenager, I spent multiple summers working in a classically French bakery, which had a small café attached to it. 

Every morning at 7am, a local man would come in and order an espresso, or as they say in France, "un petit café". 

He would sit at the window, with his newspaper and espresso, watching the world go by... 

His petit café finished, he would stride out of our bakery with a smile on his face, looking ten feet tall and ready to conquer the world. 

The simplicity of his order, the man's steadfast routine and his sense of joy as he walked out the door stayed with me... 

There is a French quote which says: 

"La vie est faite de petits bonheurs. Savourons-les comme on savoure chaque goutte de café au petit matin, avec gratitude et délice."

It translates as: 

"Life is made of small joys. Let's savour them like we savour each drop of coffee in the early morning, with gratitude and delight."

I don't know about you, but I want to strive to find life's small joys. And if I can help you find yours by offering you delicious coffees and fine pieces, then I will count myself blessed!
